Mission Statement

Catholic Network of Volunteer Service (CNVS) is a national membership organization of Christian volunteer and mission programs that fosters and promotes full-time national and international service opportunities for people of all backgrounds, ages and skills. CNVS supports and enhances the work of its membership by providing training and resources, networking opportunities, and national advocacy.

Nature of Work

Volunteer opportunities exist in approximately 55 fields of work. CNVS also administers the AmeriCorps Education Awards program for our member programs.

Placement

There are over 9,000 volunteer opportunities in over 110 countries, e.g. Australia, Central and South America, Asia, Europe, West Indies, Middle East, etc. CNVS publishes and distributes RESPONSE, the most comprehensive handbook of lay mission volunteer opportunities. RESPONSE is distributed free of charge to persons interested in faith-based service and those who promote such service. Time Frame

Full time (40 hrs. per week) for periods of from one week to three years or longer.

Requirements

Each program has its own requirements. All programs are Christian and offer an opportunity to explore, develop and grow in one's faith.

Educational requirements run the spectrum from high school diploma to professional degrees.
