Dominican Experience

Mission Statement
The "Dominican Experience" project is an organization of young people - for youth by youth. Behind this organization, a reality is presented: give each person his or her place and give responsibilities to each, all of this with the intention of forming responsible and socially engaged citizens.
Purpose
This educational program allows young people from secondary schools to live 7 or 14 days in the Dominican Republic. They will be exposed to see: barios in the capital, batey, fare trade, sugar canne Haitien community. During their experience, they are living with Dominican families. They will be more able to understand the daily life of men and women of San Pedro the Macoris.
To achieve this, teaching takes place in each step of the project around the concept "SEE - JUDGE - ACT".
These steps implicate everybody as a team and as an individual, so that kids can have a critical view of the world.
SEE = inform yourself of this or that subject... By using information from the media, someone informed on the subject on any other way available.
JUDGE = analyse information (through values and principles that we have) with a critical eye = give means to our questioning.
To complete this process, which is part of the project, it is necessary to ACT.
