Mission Statement
Graced into existence through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and the co-operation of our founder, Brother Mathias Barrett, the religious congregation of the Little Brothers of the Good Shepherd earnestly strives to fulfill its mission through the evangelical consecration of its members and the lived expression of the common life.
Our experience as a congregation is for the glory of God, perfection of our members, and service to the poor and needy. Charity unlimited, our founder's legacy to his brothers, is expressed in our service, availability, hospitality, flexibility, adaptability, and respect for life.
Purpose
With faith and trust in God's providence, we pledge ourselves to strive always to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ, clothe the naked, house the homeless, feed the hungry, comfort the lonely, and promote human dignity.
Nature of Work
Ministry to the homeless, hard to house, abused, elderly, people living with AIDS/HIV, clergy, and orphaned children.

Canada and Haiti
Time Frame
Religious Brotherhood is an ongoing commitment.
The Companion Program is for one year, which is renewable.

Requirements
Religious Brothers: Membership is open to any mature, single, Roman Catholic male of sound spiritual, physical and mental health. Membership is also open to permanent deacons and priests.
A Companion Program is available for men and women laity with no dependents, high school diploma with work experience and/or college education.
Other Details
The Companion Program provides women and men with the opportunity to commit themselves to the mission and ministry of the Little Brothers of the Good Shepherd. Companions participate in ministry activity including pastoral care, social service, support and administration.
The Companion Program is open to women and men with no dependents. A high school diploma with work experience and /or college education is required. Additional requirements include a personal interview, recommendations and a written personal essary. Training for this program is under the guidance of the director of formation.
