Missionaries of Africa (White Fathers)

Mission Statement

The evangelisation of Africa is our Mission.

As missionaries we share experience of God's love living within us. We witness the Good News of Christ by our very being, by the way we live and the way we love the Africans to whom we are sent. We proclaim to men and women that we are all children of the same loving Father, members of one family with no segregation, no exclusion.

Nature of Work

It is among the peoples of the African world that we live our project. We open the way to dialogue with other religions and other cultures in an atmosphere of mutual respect. We particularly care for the poor. We are committed to justice and peace, and to the preservation of creation. We work in order that people's lives may be fuller, richer and more truly human. We work in cooperation with the African churches.

In 23 of the 54 African countries

The Missionaries of Africa offer four avenues to accept their challenge: As Co-operators, Associates, Brothers and Priests. Age between 20 and 35 at the time of joining. Completion of Grade 12 or trade or profession usually required.
